So, back to the line of people in the forests in the middle of the night. Within minutes, we arrived at the destination - A lake. Tops/dresses/jeans off, *splash* *splash* *shrills* *curses* *laughter* and a fart later, they're in the water. It was said that the water felt like +20degs. For them, the water was warm enough, but not for me, hehe.. The other guy and I stood guard.. as our eyes adjusted to the dark, we could see heads bobbing and could hear mumbling.. I believe someone had something uncomfortable came too near his/her rear..
It struck me there and then - what a life they have here! To be able to do what they were doing is a culmination of so many factors. Putting aside the rational & safety issues, there are no worries of criminals waiting to harm people, no poisonous animals lurking in the forests (not even annoying mosquitoes), clean lake water plus a dash of spontaneity and voila! - A swim in a lake whenever your heart desires. I felt content/happy/blessed/pampered/everything good at that time. The Mister was enjoying himself - happily playing in the cool water and grinning like a big kid :)
Afterwards, we strolled home. It's a 40 minute walk, not once did we feel unsafe nor hurried. I did feel that my ankle boots were making too much noise, but all I could do was to walk lightly :p It was an awesome night, with an awesome bunch of people surrounded by pristine environment. And, it made me want to say thank you out loud, it makes me want to give Life a big, tight, loving squeeze. :)
Thankful,
ABE
