I believe my partner may have hit the nail on its head when he mentioned that I should just have my own little shop in skincare. I don't think I will but I certainly have interests in skincare and bodycare products that are organic or basically, chemicals-free.
So.. coming to this little town, one of my shocks that I didn't mention before was the limited choices for an organic products user. I was a little disappointed but got to know some new brands and has since been using them. For hair shampoo and body shampoo, we're using currently using JASON natural Aloe Vera series. So far, I'm just comforted by the fact that there are no parabens, but they use Sodium myreth sulfate, so I'm still looking for alternatives.
Here are a few sites that I refer to when it comes to ingredients that are alien to me:

If I have a newborn or children, I'd definitely like to give Honest a try! Jessica Alba's new company products look so chic and their promise so sincere, plus the fact that I just like Jessica Alba :P Though now it's only US-centric, hopefully one day they'll start shipping to the rest of the world. But in the meantime, if you are looking for organic products (i.e clothing, baby stuff), you could give natureshop a try, they seem to have raving reviews.
So whilst, I'm looking for things to put on my face - what is happening to my face? I have combination skin - normal outside of the oily T-zone. Since coming here, my cheeks are prone to ... peeling? I don't know what do you call it but if I try to put on my mineral powder foundation, you could see it clear as blue skies - dry skin. The sides of my nose have whiteheads and my forehead seems to have happy-and-angry days, depending. Now, I'm resorting to single ingredients natural masks. The one that I absolutely will do again is the fresh orange juice or honey mask - can see more from ehow. It is soothing for my cheeks, moisturizing and refreshing for the face. I did try a pure egg-whites mask, within a minute of spreading the whites upwards on my face (avoiding the eyes and mouth areas), I could feel and see the whites tighten the skin when it dries. However... I am iffy about uncooked eggs, so I will not try that again :p.
And drink lots of water :P
Loving DIY masks,
